My Journey So Far

After more than 15 years working in the service industry — from catering to hospitality to leisure — everything changed when I became pregnant with my first child. It was a moment of clarity. I realised I couldn’t continue working 50–60 hour weeks for someone else while trying to be the present, grounded parent I wanted to be.

I needed a different path.

One that allowed me to contribute financially, stay connected to meaningful work, and still be there for my growing family.

That’s how KCurryVA began — originally as a way to support other mums in business who were also searching for time, balance, and freedom. I discovered I had a genuine passion for organisation, structure, and creating calm out of chaos. What others saw as “boring admin”, I saw as a chance to help people breathe again.

Six months later, I found out I was pregnant with my second child. I had a wobble — the classic “I can’t do this” moment — but the arrival of my baby boy confirmed that I’d made the right decision. My children became my motivation to build something sustainable, flexible, and meaningful.

Then everything shifted again. I began working with a charity and membership organisation that supports vocational rehabilitation professionals — and something clicked. I hadn’t been searching for a new direction, but this work filled a gap in me I didn’t even know was there. Seeing how these practitioners supported people through life-changing challenges, helping them rebuild identity, confidence, and working lives, filled me with admiration. It opened my eyes to a sector full of compassion, resilience, and purpose — and I knew I wanted to be part of it.

As I continued my CPD and deepened my understanding of the return‑to‑work world, I found a new passion: supporting the practitioners who support everyone else. Today, I use my organisational strengths, psychological insight, and sector knowledge to help VR and RTW professionals reduce overwhelm, streamline their practice, and create the space they need to do their best work — both professionally and personally.

Because many of the people I support aren’t just managing complex caseloads.

They’re also raising children, caring for ageing parents, juggling appointments, and trying to hold together the invisible threads of family life. I understand that world intimately, and I’m proud to help bring structure, clarity, and breathing room to it.

My children remain my driving force — the reason I strive to do better, be better, and support others in building lives and careers that feel sustainable, purposeful, and human.
